This is a rework for Overwatch's Horizon Lunar Colony Map's Point A. The map itself was known to the community was one of the worst designed maps because of how one-sided it was.
In this project, I worked as a level designer to blockout the map to rework the Horizon Lunar Colony Map. The key points to the level were to make it balanced for attackers and defenders and to give natural cover, sight lines, and flanking routes while keeping everything to scale to the player.
Map Comparison
Point A's Choke Point
This is the "choke point" in the map, where defenders would have high ground. This was where the attackers had a hard time getting to Point A because there was no "natural cover" to protect against the defenders. My solution was to remove the high ground and put more cover for the attackers to use to protect themselves.

Point A's Routes
I added more natural cover in the map to protect the players and have the view to Point A. This would also allow players to have different routes to get to Point A.
Point A Defender Side
This is the defenders' side of the map which has sight lines and cover to protect themselves on Point A.

Attacker's 2nd Spawn Point
Upon capturing Point A, the attackers get a new spawn point. I recreated the spacesuit room that was contained in the original map in order to preserve the in-game lore.
